Support
Backlaner plans a drive in the UK and prefers a quieter road when the extra time is still sensible. It shows the posted speed limit when the map has one, and it can warn you about cameras that volunteers have added to OpenStreetMap.
On the road
- Allow location if you want the app to follow you. On iPhone, choose Always if you want spoken prompts with the screen locked.
- Sounds on covers the chime and the voice. Cameras on covers the camera banner and the spoken camera warning.
- A speed van report lasts about 40 minutes. A closure or traffic report can nudge the route. A camera warning does not change the route.
- If the screen says there is no signal, wait until you have coverage and try the route again. Guidance already on screen stays where it is.
Help us improve Backlaner
We’re always working to improve Backlaner. If you have a question, an idea for an improvement, or an issue with the app, we’d love to hear from you.
hello@backlaner.comFor app issues, include what happened and which phone you use. You can still use the flag button in the app to report traffic or a road problem.
